Camp: Rusty log cabin in the woods or trendy Brooklyn bar? With wooden décor and inviting photos of lakes and forests, Camp bridges the gap between these two incongruous scenarios, adding some variety to Smith Street. It feels different depending on the season—should we be skiing or boating?—although the kayak and totem pole propped up in the corners do feel somewhat out of place next to the mounted deer head. But the seasonal confusion is forgiven come the warm and cuddly feeling that permeates this bar and its many couches and stools year-round, whether you’re huddled outside on the patio or around the blazing fireplace, digging into the S’mores platter ($12). Weekend DJs, Chex-Mix bar snacks, and fairly priced drinks don’t hurt, either. |
