Kitsch galore, tipsy hipsters, records for sale…this must be Williamsburg. Or perhaps it’s the Ludlow Street of 10 years ago. What it’s not is like anything else in the area these days. Upstairs is a coffee shop where bohemian types talk about whatever it is they talk about all afternoon. Perhaps they’re talking about the bands you’ve never heard of playing downstairs who are hoping to someday rock the nearby Bowery Ballroom. The staff is gregarious and the mood light no matter where you end up, and the crowd, while being “hipsters” for lack of a better term, seems to follow suit in being approachable and friendly.
