Console yourself with a “High Society” burger at restaurateur Andrew Silverman’s Café Society in Union Square, taking over the former Steak Frites location. Sleek wood floors, rich orange and green colors, and silver accents update the bistro feel with a Starbucks-modern twist. Head to the bar and order a Hefe-Weissbier Dunkel, one of several lesser-known beers on tap, and cozy up to the attractive after-work crowd. The menu is a bit schizophrenic with selections including a Copacabana salad, duck Bolognese, and Point Judith calamari—and did we mention the sushi and spare ribs? But as any socialite worth her salt could tell you, it pays to diversify. |
