Cafe Gitane @ The Jane Hotel: What they're saying: The Mott Street eatery is heading out West (Village, that is) to open a second location in the Jane Hotel. You know the Jane from its Ballroom and some particularly insane (and neighbor-rankling) parties over the summer. Well, now you'll be able to get something to eat before you don't get in. The new spot—designed by owners Luc Levy and Robert Padilla of L'Atelier Des Arts (who also kick-started Minetta Tavern, Balthazar and Pastis)— features outdoor tables, sunset views and menu favorites from the first location (Smoked Trout Salad, Moroccan Couscous).
