Cafe Des Artistes:
Grab your daddy, or your sugar daddy, and head out to this old New York staple. Open since 1917, the European-inspired menu and wine list of over 600 bottles could turn even Dubya into a Francophile. The upper echelon clientele samples quail eggs at the bar while studying the naked wood nymph murals painted by Howard Chandler Christy—quite a kitschy backdrop for the aristocratic set that frequents. The Parlor, a fetching café that flanks the entrance, hosts the most intimate of private functions. Regulars discuss the ballet, the opera, the astonishing pot-au-feu, and the extraordinary salmon tartar. If you are looking to get dressed, impress, and spend to excess, this is the address.
I came here after my high school graduation years ago and definitely had a great time. It is always packed with people who just want to have a good time. However, all this fun makes the service slower.
