Music and passion…depends on the night. But fashion? Cabanas has it, and a rooftop breeze to boot. The Maritime Hotel has a club below it, an outdoor restaurant/lounge on the main floor, and this al fresco sensation on top. Frozen margaritas, mojitos, and bottled beer fuel both the north and south rooftops. The north side has velvet rope standards matching those of most city nightclubs, but a mix of Rolling Stones and The Doors makes it feel like a college buddy’s deck party. That said, show up in shorts and a state t-shirt and the door girl will treat you like an unwanted sorority pledge. The south side, which is a little more house- and jazz-oriented, is more welcoming. Neither deck provides much of a view, but in Manhattan, you take outdoor space where you can get it.
This should be under the "annoying door" category. Really, really long line and we got there right before 11 on a Saturday. Unless you have a lot of money for bottle service, even if you're beautiful, they don't care about you.
