Cabana Midtown: When you walk into Cabana, the smells wafting from the kitchen will have you ordering more than a mojito. Cuban specialties like chicharrones de pollo are moderately priced—this isn’t a Taco Bell, after all—and worth a taste. Just like the Mexican restaurants around town with umpteen flavored margaritas, Cabana offers several types of mojitos concocted with flavored Bacardi, the requisite lime juice, and mint. There are no happy hour deals at Cabana; mojitos are always $6.50, domestic beers are $4, imports are $5, and glasses of wine are $7. Sangria, daiquiris, margaritas, and martinis are also available, but you won’t find better mojitos on the Upper East Side. |
