Buzina Pop:
Buzina Pop is like a breath of Brazilian fresh air for the stale Upper East Side. Forgoing the tradition of serving rotisserie meat on a skewer, Buzina chef Adriano Suppa Ricco brings us to the real essence of Brazil by using indigenous ingredients like acerola (a sweet red cherry fruit), pupunha (fresh hearts of palm), and the sugarcane rum cachaca. An appetizer of raw tuna and seared foie gras is covered in a luscious cachaca-molasses reduction, while succulent and tender grilled duck breast is paired with pureed yam infused with a Maderia wine; try it with a caipirinha made with sake. The décor is equally as inventive—Marimekko-inspired prints decorate not only walls but the duo-toned floor as well. Brazil may not have won the world cup, but they’ll never get a red card for this endeavor.
