Bubble Lounge: The New York outpost of this bicoastal champagne bar is still hoppin’ after 10 years. After surviving that long, it’s practically an institution—a champagne institution, that is. A long list of bubbly, celebratory cocktails, and muddled-fruit flutes (strawberries, peaches…it’s a virtual orchard) make this comfortable, funky modern art-strewn locale a lounge worth going back to. The large, atmospheric space, with its exposed-brick walls and Urban-Outfitters-style giant paper lamps, draws a crowd on weekend nights, when waits for a table can be long and there may not even be standing room at the bar. So go early, or during the calmer weeknights. Hors d’oeuvres are pricey but delish. |
