Brasserie Maison
Picking up where the popular Brasserie Centrale left off, Brasserie Maison is now the name of the relaxed French bistro/bar and large outdoor space that offers tourists and Midtown slaves a respite from the bustle of Times Square. The name is just about the only thing that’s changed about this spot, but that’s not a bad thing. This French sidewalk café still appeals to the stuffed shirts and fanny packers who have always stopped here for pricey bottles of Stella Artois and Chimay Rouge. The food is classic French bistro fare. Highlights include smoked salmon crepes and a hulking, cheesy croque monsieur. The restaurant may be open 24 hours, but the alcohol stops flowing at 4am. Merde!
