Have you heard? 84th Street is the new Broadway. At least that’s how it seems at Brandy’s. Every night at 9:30pm, performers play and sing for a mainly gay crowd and its straight friends. Whether you come here to sing along from the long bar up front or from the tables in the back (where there is a two-drink minimum), there’s never any shortage of talent here—much of the staff are themselves entertainers. Patrons are used to classy acts here, so don’t even think of grabbing the mic if the only person who’s ever complimented you on your voice is your mom. And for those looking to have a Brandy on the road, the bar offers a CD of live performances for $15.
