Bongo
Mmmmm, oysters. The slippery little suckers are making a comeback at Bongo, a Chelsea lounge dedicated to serving at least half a dozen kinds of oysters on a daily basis. Settle into an Eames chair amid the 1950s-living-room-style décor and suck down tasty cocktails like the Blue Bongo (Raspberry Stoli, Blue Curacao, lime juice, and sour mix) or the Bongo Sunrise (tequila, Cointreau, orange juice, and grenadine). But don’t forget the real reason you’re here: the oysters. The cucumber-infused Fanny Bays, salty Pemaquids, and mineral-and-lemon Wellfleets are all good choices. Reservations are only accepted for parties of six or more, so if you’re caught waiting, read the “Little Known Facts About Oysters” on the menu. Hey, it’s always appropriate to get to know your dinner guest.

Late Night Suprise

A group of us went to Bongo after a concert to eat the fabulous lobster rolls and oysters. The cocktail list was enormous- try the Ultimate Margarita-it was potent and tasty. Also, the mac and cheese was pretty damn good. Bongo hit the spot.
