Bombay Talkie
Overlook this hip Indian restaurant and you’ll be “sari.” Just over a year old, this petite, two-story bar and restaurant is named for Bollywood films, like the ones that are screened in the futuristic bar in back. Vibrant Indian paintings add a festive atmosphere, and the communal table downstairs is great for groups. Newcomers to Indian cuisine may be overwhelmed by the lengthy menu of clay oven chicken, chicken tikka masala, and street bites like dosas and the delicious Bombay bhel, but these dishes are fantastic in any language. Late weekend hours (open until 11:30pm Friday and Saturday) offer the perfect excuse to sip a fruity Ankura cocktail before skipping off to the clubs.

Bombay Talkie is just what NY needs more of. It's fun and trendy but totally original and unpretentious. The food is delicious to boot.
