Bodrum:
Designed by architect Richard Bloch (Masa), a wood-burning oven dominates the space, while geomantic curves and soothing colors suggest a culinary tradition built around the sea. The Branzini, one of six aquatically-inspired entrees, is a standout, offering a perfectly-cooked and pleasantly non-fishy rendition. Manti—dumplings stuffed with ground lamb and dredged in an airy yogurt sauce—offer something for landlubbers. Like the first fifteen minutes of any artist on "Behind the Music", Bodrum seems to have it all—class, confidence, and some of the tastiest offerings around (kind of like any band's heyday on the Sunset Strip...if you know what we mean). Were it located seventy blocks south, you can be sure it'd be blowing the competition right out of the water.
