Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill: Midtown’s version of the impeccable Blue Ribbon franchise is supersized and ready for your next corporate card meal. Bruce and Eric Bromberg blend their sushi and brasserie dining experiences at Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar and Grill at the 6 Columbus Hotel—the menu offers everything from raw octopus to their famous fried chicken. Like a “Greatest Hits” record, however, there’s something lacking here. Perhaps it’s the slightly-too-large space, or the sauna-like woodwork, or the just-a-bit-too-bright lighting, but the neo-Japanese design feels awkward. Even so, the food here rocks, along with the shochu cocktails at the 15-seat bar—although it’s the bill that will knock your socks off. |
