Blue Ribbon Brasserie
This is the scene that begat New York’s slit-your-wrist bar scenes. Not in the beer swigging, crane-your-neck-for-a-vodka-tonic way, but more intimate celebrity hide-away. The hardwood floors and brick walls belie a joint that caters to a big-name clientele. But don’t be surprised when the bar’s six deep at 3am, or if you collide with someone whose name was on the front page of yesterday’s paper—this is a hotbed for the city’s glitterati. Most await a dinner table, but with a list of over 250 wines, a dozen cognacs, and numerous craft beers, this bar is a major must for anyone to properly own the night. Too bad they can’t save us from wanting to gauge our eyes on the weekends.
