In a space about the size of an NYU dorm room rests the Bromberg’s latest addition to their trendy family of restaurants. Despite the fact that this white oak-lined space is essentially a waiting room for Blue Ribbon Bakery across the street, the drinks here are more than quaffable. A small beer selection features Old Speckled Hen and Gaffel, but the wine list is substantial and includes several different wine and sake flights. The aptly named White Oak (cognac, maraschino liquor, and lime juice) goes perfectly with the gourmet nibbles. But truthfully, it’s just another par for the course in the West Village: chic, polished, gourmet, with everyone stacked on top of each other.
