Blue Point: For a minute there it looked like Yum Yum Bangkok was going to take over the entire east side of Ninth Ave. But a big blue newcomer has put a stop to that. Looking a tad like a Smurf massacre, Blue Point is blue all over, from the exterior brick to the interior’s tiled walls, table tops, and chairs. The crepe-heavy menu is a bit overpriced—one filled with Nutella and strawberries rings in at $10—and orders take an absurdly long time to get to your table. French faves like croques monsieur, quiche, and steak frites are also on the menu, as well as a variety of beers, wines, and brunch cocktails. After a few well-made Bloody Marys, all is forgiven. |
