Beet: More like a swanky TriBeCa fusion restaurant than a Slope bar, this spot pretty much fills the area’s “hip, eclectic, exotic” quota. Though Song, a well-packed Thai restaurant around the bend, brings some competition, Beet holds its own. Offering up a huge list of oversized cocktails, the fresh space is perfect for a pair or small group who wants to class it up without the cheese factor. Fun appetizers (seriously stock up—the drinks are not only huge, they’re strong) and main dishes big enough to share make Beet a cool cocktail hour choice. And you can play “living in Manhattan” while you’re there. |
