Bark Hot Dogs: Introducing, the haute dog. You know the artisanal food craze is getting out of control when even wiener vendors are getting in the mix, but Bark—Park Slope’s new hot doggery—gets it right. The signature selection is grilled in lard butter and served up simple with pickled hot pepper relish. Meanwhile, other offerings (such as Bacon Cheddar Dogs and Beans and Franks) prove that Bark's more concerned with taste than ground-breaking cuisine. And while nothing about the menu is particularly outlandish, neither are the prices, which max out at just $6.25—and that’s for Chili-Cheese. Bark even addresses the concerns of the non-meat eaters (with veggie dogs) as well as the non-weiner eaters (with a Crispy Pork Sandwich). And if you're thirsty, how does a peanut butter milkshake sound? Just remember that artisinal doesn't mean healthy—Bark could be as bad as the bites are good. |
