Barcelona Bar: Is shot your favorite four-letter word? Do you like wearing protective headgear while drinking? If so, have we got a bar for you. Barcelona Bar, modeled after popular shot bars in Spain, doesn’t fuss around with things like furniture and food (but you can order from nearby restaurants). The bar takes up the whole length of the place and aside from TVs, the only real decoration is four blackboards listing the menu of 100+ inventive shots (plus a full selection of beer and wine). Besides the typical Jäger bombs and lemon drop shots that defined college for most of us, Barcelona has creative tonics with accessories. Some involve theme music (“Knight Rider,” anyone?), and others that, like the Jose Canseco downed out of a syringe, involve props. For real fun, invite an unsuspecting co-worker and ask them to order a Full Metal Jacket. They’ll be donning an army helmet, downing two shots of Wild Turkey, and be down on the floor doing push-ups in no time. |
