While in the past your totally excellent videogame skills didn’t exactly draw a crowd of hot-and-bothered admirers, the times, they are a-changin’! At Barcade, nothing’s more impressive than a fierce Donkey Kong game, except perhaps the gigantic, ever-changing list of beers above the bar. There are more beverage options than Tetris has levels, complete with selections for beginner-, intermediate-, or advanced-level drinkers. Ms. Pac-Man is sometimes the only female hanging out in this heavily male crowd, making for a somewhat awkward scene; it can be hard to socialize if you’re not interested in pumping your laundry quarters into another game of Frogger. If bros and brews are your thing, though, there’s no better place to rack up the arcade achievements—just remember to keep your hand on your own joystick, buddy.
