bar.vetro:
This modern Italian restaurant balances sexy sleekness and a cool décor with genuine friendliness and comfort. Inside, the first thing you’ll notice is the small, glowing glass bar (“vetro” is Italian for glass) and calm, lavender lighting. Vivolo next door serves a hearty Italian meal, but the real draw is the ambiance and the welcoming feel at bar.vetro; the staff is extremely friendly and the owner himself is often on hand to greet customers. At night, half of the restaurant turns into a lounge space, and the bar becomes a hidden favorite for cool kids otherwise stranded in Midtown. Impress your date by claiming to know Italian (the menu offers quick crib note-like headings to get you started) and order her a Fragolini (a martini with fresh strawberries). Mangia!
My friends and I are regular customers at Bar Vetro. The food is always delicious and the staff is very friendly and professional. We will be celebrating many future dinners there!!!

My birthday dinner was a disaster at Bar Vetro! One of my friends found nats crawling in her chicken ceaser salad which is a completely unsanitary. The food overall was not good and is quite over priced for the basic Italian dishes that they offer. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone b/c of the terrible food and unprofessionalism!
