The name means “fast bar” and their mascot is the Vespa parked near the door, but nothing about this slick little wine bar implies speed. Bar Veloce is the kind of place where you want to linger, listening to soft jazz and reminding yourself to put La Dolce Vita on your Netflix queue. On weeknights the place is packed with a trendy after-work crowd, all rosy-cheeked and giggling with big vino-induced smiles. There’s also a menu of Italian bar snacks—bruschetta, panini—to chase away those early evening munchies. The pace slows considerably on weekends; Saturday nights find couples sipping grappa and dessert wines at the warm, softly lit bar. Best of all, the non-insane prices will have you sighing, “Ah, la dolce vino!”
