Who would expect that a pool table, or even a basement, could be found at a taco shack? Then again, not too many people expect to stumble upon a taco shack on the south end of Park Slope. Bar Reis is the type of place you want to keep a secret, because you don’t want a bunch of people going there and phunking with the vibe. Unshaken bartenders make mean margaritas, and if you’re lucky, $1.50 chicken tacos may be the night’s special. Want to make more than conversation at the bar? The tiny upstairs balcony is a quick (if not great) escape and the loungey basement opens to the porch. Ok, so it sounds more like a taco mansion than a shack, but why quibble over details?
