Bar Q: Bar Q isn’t the sort of place to tear into a sauce-splattered hunk of meat. Given its stark white walls and pod-like booths, you’ll want to have a few napkins handy when dining on the contemporary Asian ‘cue. Chef Anita Lo (Annisa) offers a bold, Eastern (albeit pricey) take on Southern cooking, serving dishes such as spit-roasted pork belly with kimchee, stuffed spareribs with lemongrass bbq, tea-smoked duck, and steamed buns. A raw bar of shellfish and sashimi complements the spicier fare. On top of house cocktails like bubble tea on the rocks (green tea, vodka, and almond milk), Q has an extensive list of wine, sake, and beer. Other-worldly environs aside, this 120-seat restaurant features a glass-enclosed greenhouse in addition to the main room and bar, with plans for outdoor garden seating in the summer. Let’s hope the outside décor is more conducive to pigging out. |
