Bar Nine:
On first walk-by, Bar Nine appears to be just another neighborhood joint. But wander inside and you’ll be pleasantly surprised by its laid-back digs. Worn-in couches and arm-chairs are set up like mini living rooms all along the length of the space. You’ll feel like you’ve walked all the way to Tenth Ave. by the time you get to the semi-private back room. Accents like dimly lit lamps, antique mirrors, and clocks enhance the vintage ambiance, while tables tucked away in almost-hidden nooks allow for private dinners for two or 10. The bar serves up happy hour specials until 8pm (Tues-Sat), but it gets crowded up there pretty quickly, allowing for standing room only. No worries, you still get a show—live music entertains every Monday and Tuesday.
