Bar Luna: Hey, we understand: you can’t rage every night. If you're more in the mood for something mellow, like a night of wine and cheese (without the art) you could do worse than Bar Luna on the Upper West Side. From the same team that brought you Bella Luna twenty years ago, this “new moon” features Mediterranean-themed tapas, over 130 wines and a very chill atmosphere. Inside the restaurant, exposed brick tastefully envelopes the room; outside, a patio perched beneath a sunny, yellow-striped awning makes a perfect after-work spot. Note that you’ll find the laid-back crowd perfectly content with the company they’re keeping, so this is not a place for pick-up lines. Instead, relax with pals and try one of Bella Luna’s specialty drinks, like the Taki Sunset ($11), made with Prosecco, Aperol and orange oil. You can always return to your typical night of vodka tonics tomorrow. |
