Still, it’s a small price to pay—Bar Carerra’s inventive Spanish cuisine goes down smooth (they’ve practically performed miracles with pork and guava) and the attractive crowd is geared for romance. People line up in droves for a crack at the free pinball machine (make a beeline for the back if you want to show off your Tommy-level skills) or snag yourself some Spanish wine and find yourself a fox. “Accidentally” bumping into your object of desire is totally allowed—just be sure you’re drinking a white.
