Bamboo 52 could really be the place that has something for everyone: an open porch area for people-watchers; a 40-ft.-long mesquite bar area where sports-showing flatscreen TVs adorn an exposed brick wall; frozen lychee martinis churning in a machine any other place would use for margaritas; and a mosaic-tiled sushi bar for that one friend who has to eat when he goes out. Chef/owner John Greco III (Posh, Philip Marie) and Chef Solomon Ngn (Bali) serve sashimi, raw salads, and rolls, complemented by bubbly sake champagne and a selection of Asian micro-brews and Japanese-style single-malt Scotches. A private, leather-clad lounge area sits in back for the VIP crew, while your one friend who still smokes will love the outdoor area complete with a bamboo garden. Now if everyone could just agree on how to split the check.
