B. Café West: Belgians prove yet again that they know their beer at B. Cafe West. With nearly 50 different brews served in just about every shape and size of stemware imaginable, this genuine brasserie is a mandatory stop for any beer enthusiast. Granted, most New Yorkers won’t be able to pronounce any of the beers’ names, and the menu is a little steep (the house burger is $14), but don’t let that put you off—the staff is friendly, the brews strong and complex, and B. Café serves frites for a semi-reasonable $6 a pop. On second thought, skip the frites; they’ll just crowd out the beer. Open Sun.-Mon. 5-10pm, Tue.-Sat. 5-11pm. |
