Avenue A Sushi has been around for what feels like an eternity. (18 years and counting, folks.) While the décor does border on dated, there aren’t too many sushi joints with a disco ball and DJ. Once inside, the bar serves up sake martinis to a kooky clientele until 3am. Local artists display what can only be defined as “interesting” work but hey, you’re in the East Village—a bit of kitschy color is to be expected. Don’t dismiss the after-work scene: 2-for-1 drinks from 5pm-8pm help keep sake lovers soused. Open Sun.-Thu. 5pm-1am, Fri.-Sat. 5pm-3am.
