August: This shoebox-sized eatery is bar-less, so stopping by just for drinks is as smart as going to Africa for a blood transfusion. But dropping in for food and a good bottle of French wine is a worthy idea, especially when it's warm enough to take advantage of the outdoor garden. Given the popularity of the place, you have about as good a chance of getting a seat right away as an Afghan on an American airline, but when you need that escargot fix, it’s worth the wait. The management can err on the pissy side, but then again, it is a French restaurant where attitude can be excused for ambiance. Open Mon.-Thu. noon-3:30pm and 5:30-11pm, Fri. noon-3:30pm and 5:30-midnight, Sat. 11am-3:30pm and 5:30-midnight, Sun. 5:30-10pm.
