Atria: CLOSED. Due to shrinking midtown expense accounts and its hidden location in the bottom of a Rockefeller town house, Atria hasn’t yet picked up the neighborhood base of the space’s previous occupant, Grayz. However, wine director Nic Bradley, of Per Se fame, has put together a diverse list of nearly 400 wines—and a selection behind the bar that even the pickiest boozehound would appreciate. The cocktail list is equally ambitious, and for $12-14 drinkers can go with modern mixtures like the SSC—Herradura tequila, maple syrup, and a salt-sugar-cayenne blend—as well as a variety of forgotten classics, like the sloe gin fizz. The restaurant may be named for the downstairs dining room’s breathtaking eight-story atria—decorated with local artist Shaun Acton’s giant metal mobiles—but the bar at Atria exudes a white-glove atmosphere, which must have stuck around after the Rockefellers moved out. Open Mon.-Thu. noon-2:30pm and 5:30-10:30pm, Fri. noon-2:30pm and 5:30-11pm, Sat. 5:30-11pm.
