Art Land: Claw-foot bathtubs filled with iced beer, wrought iron-framed mirrors, grapevine chandeliers—Art Land doesn’t exactly have a unifying theme, but that doesn’t stop it from feeling natural and inviting. Pull up a mismatched stool at the rolling bar and chat up the friendly bartender or unload some quarters for pinball and Pac-Man. Happy hour runs from 5pm-9pm (two-for-one beers, $4 well drinks), with free pool on Mondays, and while a $5 PBR-and-well-shot seems to be the standard deal in the ‘Burg, Art Land trumps it with a 16 oz. Colt 45 and shot of call liquor for $10. So grab a drink and check out the local art on display. All the pieces are for sale, but judging by your choice of canned beverage, it’s doubtful you’ll be buying one any time soon. |
