Arriba Arriba: This perpetually packed Mexican eatery isn’t known so much for their tamales and tacos as they are for their Mama and Papa—big and bigger pureed, fruit-infused margaritas. These potent drinks could make maneuvering yourself around the dim and cramped din-ing room a bit tricky and will have you home by 11 if you aren’t careful. Not to worry though, the capable and friendly staff will give you a helping hand; they mingle as well as they serve here. The lively and loud room (courtesy of the in-house DJ) is mostly filled with the “HellSea” neighborhood crowd, with at least one table inevitably hosting their own mama and papa for dinner. Their bemused expression has nothing to do with how spicy the camarones are—they are just trying to decide which is mas loco, the suggestive bestiality murals painted on the walls or just how fast their 30-year-old can down that margarita.
