When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that’s…Aroma. You won’t find anything as pedestrian as pizza at this charming Italian kitchen, but you certainly will find amore. The bar is a single piece of knotted teak harvested by elephants in Sri Lanka. The crystal chandelier casts rainbows on the calming celadon green walls, and the expansive wine list, while at first glance intimidating, is easily accessible with the help of co-owner and sommelier Vito Polosa. But what really puts this wine bar head and shoulders above the dozens of others that beckon to the gentrifying neighborhood’s yuppies is the passion and attention to detail of Polosa and his partner Alexandra Degiorgio. They’re out to make you a regular, and it shows. Open Sun.-Thu. 5-11pm, Fri.-Sat. 5pm-midnight.
