Arium: Tea and scones in the Meatpacking District? We realize it’s a little ironic, but don’t look so perplexed. This is indeed a more than welcome cultural retreat from the trendy, played-out vibe that permeates the area. The interior with its white walls and sparsely hung artwork may make you feel like you're dining in an art gallery. Arium does, however, serve its purpose as the perfect place for a brunch with more than a few mimosas after browsing some of the designer boutiques nearby. Although its hours hinder much of a nightlife scene, events like performances by Julliard musicians offer an alternative entertainment option from the usual line-up of late night debauchery.
