Allen & Delancey: It’s something special when you witness someone lose their virginity. But to sweetbread? Now that’s something for the food porn set. To call British chef Neil Ferguson’s Allen & Delancey "porn" is a disservice, however, since its rustic elegance is anything but rough around the edges. The seasonal menu made us realize we actually learned something from “Top Chef” (slow-roasted pork belly with pickled apples, anyone?), and it’s the perfect spot to cozy up to someone like Padma or Sam Talbot. The sexy, brick lined front room offers a great bar, where consulting bartender Alex Day (Death & Co.) has revamped the cocktail menu. Try a Tinker's Stand (bourbon, Amaro, lemon, and honeyed ginger syrup) before you make your way to two intimately-lit dining rooms in back. Now about that ravishing sweetbread... Open Mon.-Thu. 5:45-11pm, Fri.-Sat. 5:45pm-2am, Sun. 11am-3:30pm and 5:45-10pm.
