Adour
Even our favorite Bergdorf brunette, Victoria Beckham, would raise an eyebrow at the poshness that is Alain Ducasse’s lastest homage to all things vino. Tricked out by the designers of Nobu, Adour is decked out with silver leaf walls, a four-seat wine tasting bar made of stretched goat skin, and flecks of precious metal just about everywhere else. It's pretty much guaranteed that this is where the city's cotillion of LV logo handbags will be trotted out for the evening. For your entertainment, the 600-bottle wine list is computerized to project onto the bar surface. Patrons need only touch a selection to read about their bottle of choice. Of course, the real draw is the culinary genius of Monsieur Ducasse, which, paired with the wine list, works double-time to clean out your wallet. Guess you could say you get more for your money. We say, when in doubt, just ask for Chateau d'Yquem. You know—“that French stuff.” Open Mon.-Thu. and Sun. 5-10:30pm, Fri.-Sat. 5-11pm.

Major disappointment

I thought I had planned a nice treat for a friend's Birthday. Adour served us the worst food that money can buy at a glacial pace. The Spagetti-O sauce under the cod was the major dissappointment. The wine was okay, but nothing like the great wines I sampled at Ducasse's Mix of yesteryear. Seemed like it was popular place for rich johns to bring their call girls. Computerized bar was cool but clunky. Took 45 minutes for my bar food to arrive. the 5-course dinner was really a big disappointment.
