Finally, a restaurant that understands we've all had enough of the rustic Tuscan farmhouse schtick. A Voce replaced the rough wood tables and faux finish, pseudo-stucco walls with cascading glass baubles, leather topped tables and updated swivel Eames chairs. You might accidentally mistake A Voce for the lounge of an upscale men's club…if it wasn’t for the clothed women in the place. While waiting for your date at the glitzy front bar, occupy yourself with 12-page Homeric wine “list” which it might be faster to complete Penelope’s Web than get through every page. When your “Ulysses” finally arrives, check out the fancy appetizers like crostini alla toscana and sardines in saor while you down a bottle of first rate Brunello. Chef Andrew Carmellini used to be the right hand man to Daniel Boulud, so this is definitely the right place to come if you're hungry or if you’ve never been to the Four Seasons. The two share the same interior designer causing more spatial confusion—until you get the bill.
