9th Avenue Saloon: You’d think that a gay bar located in the Theater District would be filled with tons of drama. And you’d be right. Luckily, it has nothing to do with the patrons, whose lack of pretense is a main draw of this Hell’s Kitchen hangout. Much of the comedic drama here revolves around the bar’s fun events. Every Wednesday, men in their 30s and 40s come for karaoke. Meanwhile, if you’re too broke to enjoy a real Broadway extravaganza, catch “The Ginger Show,” a drag act held the last Tuesday of each month. Besides, after getting toasty during a happy hour from noon to 10pm, watching “The Lion King” isn’t nearly as thrilling as being in the company of drunk theater queens. Open daily 11am-4am. |
