Oh, to be able to traipse around bars in the West Village ’til 4am and then go to work the next day! If you’re one of those lucky people (cough, trustafarian, cough, unemployed) who doesn’t have to clock in at 9am, you’re sooner or later bound to find your way to 49 Grove. This late-night hipster joint (Thursday-Saturday only) doesn’t even open ’til 9pm, so the post-work cocktail crowd is thoroughly omitted from the game plan. Still, there is something excitingly nightclubby about these four subterranean rooms and their late hours of operation. Although there is no food service, the management here prides itself on a large selection of magnum bottles, and touts 1.75 liters of Patron at $600 to be one of the best deals going. What a deal!
I went here for my friend's birthday party and had an amazing time. The spacious 4 room lounge provided everything one could imagine! We had an open bar, hors d'oeuvre and a private area. It was a great time had by all. This place is definitely high class and highly recommended.
