Jordan Harris and Matthew Isaacs, founders of marketing and communications company The Bloc Group, have been a driving force behind some of NYC's most exclusive hotspots, from Mansion to Room Service to one of the hottest spots of the moment, Upstairs. Next up? The newly-opened Rose Club at the Plaza Hotel, where they have been hosting parties almost every night since the room reopened about six weeks ago. Although Harris and Isaacs are staying tight-lipped about their newest venture, we caught up with the duo to get their take on nightlife from the inside.

How did you two get your start in the nightlife business? M: We hung out in the same circle at nightclubs during our summers home from college. After graduation, Jordan was working for Sony and I was on the marketing team at Lotus (which just closed last month). We were inspired by promotions and marketing companies like Strategic Group, so we started Bloc on the side as a way to earn extra money by throwing a few parties on the Lower East Side. The company grew very quickly. About a year into it, we quit our day jobs to focus on Bloc Group full-time. Now going into our fifth year, The Bloc Group has expanded into a full-fledged communications business.
