Dark Knights: Bat Cave Bars in Gotham City

124 Rabbit Club
124 Macdougal St. (W. 3rd & Bleecker Sts.)
West Village 212.254.0575
Taking advantage of MacDougal Street’s monotonous tendency to cater to NYU students, 124 Rabbit Club is something of a dark horse (or hare?) in the Greenwich Village bar scene. Essentially a dimly-lit cellar, the bar forfeits beer pong tables and neon Rolling Rock signs for candlelit tables and exposed brick and tile walls. Even the alcohol selection deviates from the norm, as the Rabbit serves beer only, and we’re not talking $3 Bud Lites. Many of the brews come from countries you’ve never heard of with names you can’t pronounce—on second thought, where’s a college kid when you need one?
