Wölffer estate was founded in 1987 by Christian Wölffer. The 55- acre vineyard was created with the classic European wine tradition in mind. At present they produce 13,500 cases annually. Here are just some of the accolades they’ve won for their wines: the 2005 Late Harvest Chardonnay was voted best dessert wine in New York State, and their Le Ferme Martin Chardonnay won a Gold Medal at the International Wines for Oysters Competition. Wölffer has branched out into Wölffer Stables, which offers a pony camp, a dressage program and for those of you who are looking for alternative modes of transportation, they have horses for sale too.
