Bedell Cellars is owned by Michael Lynne, former CEO of New Line Cinema. He looked all over the world for a vineyard, and settled on Long Island’s North Fork because he really “believed in the world class potential of their vineyards,” according to the film on their site. The film shows verdant fields with vines dripping with grapes. Not bad for a vineyard that was started in a potato barn in 1919. They do offer VIP tastings and tours ($35 per person) by appointment. Their tasting room boasts contemporary art from Mr. Lynne’s private collection of work.
