The bummer about eating out with friends? It can be murder on the budget. The bummer about hosting a dinner party? Same deal. Sure, everyone has an excuse for not inviting you over to dinner: They can’t cook, their apartment is only 300 square feet and they share it with a roommate and three cats, blah, blah, blah. But there’s no reason to take on Citibank-sized debt just because you want to entertain. This time tell your friends: Bring it! It’s potluck time.
