Chinatown Brasserie |

Ah, Hamptons season. Sprawling seaside homes with Olympic-sized pools, polo matches by day, and dinner under the stars spells pure paradise. However, for most of us, that's slightly less realistic than Hilary Duff's virginity. But take heart city dwellers, there are plenty of cool new places in town for curing the summertime blues. Despite the name, Ten Degrees (121 St. Marks Pl., 212.358.8600) is a new East Village hotspot for those that care more about preppy socks than punk rock. Centovini (25 W. Houston St., 212.219.2113), a downtown wine bar, also offers safe harbor to landlubbers hoping to vacation close to home. Those looking for an overseas experience on a Metrocard budget should check out the new Bulgarian hotspot Mehanata (113 Ludlow St., 212.625.0981). And come fall everyone will be talking about Chinatown Brasserie (380 Lafayette St., 212.533.7000), so get there now and get friendly with the bartenders before "They" come back to town. |
