Krispy Kreme, Chipotle, Gray’s Papaya—you go through more fast food than Britney during a pregnancy craving. If we truly are what we eat, you’re in a lot of trouble. And though normally eating your vegetables means ordering extra relish on your hot dog, you might discover a newfound love for greens when you get a load of the creations at Just Salad. This new veggie venue combines a funky décor with a uniquely yummy salad menu that’s anything but boring. A former writer for O Magazine, Chef Laura Pensiero carefully selected the menu to create a healthy selection while including tasty toppings and exclusive dressings, running the gamut from avocado, anchovies, and edamame to low-fat pineapple chipotle or chilled avocado dressings. The NYC native owners add other special touches, like giving customers Tupperware bowls to take leftovers home (return it and score two free toppings on your next salad). And if your inner carnivore is panicking, don’t worry: There are plenty of meat and seafood toppings too. Just Salad, 51st Street between Park & Madison Aves., Midtown, 212.758.8900 |
